FANFARE 2025 – Performative Talk

FANFARE 2025 is a contemporary interpretation of the iconic Dutch film Fanfare (Bert Haanstra, 1958), which portrays a village brass band rehearsing for a competition amid internal conflicts. Artist Priscila Fernandes created this film with the participation of the musicians from De Bergklanken (Netherlands). In this talk, the artist and the musicians share their experience and reflect on folklore, identity, and rural life. The work is supported by Mondriaan Fonds, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery, Batalha Film Centre, and Circular Festival.
